dharmalogos I'm so glad Elay Arson is back. I'll admit this isn't as good as their last two albums due to the lack of a guitarist and special guests, but it's still an excellent album of energetic but moody synthesizer music that makes some very relevant points about humanity's relationship with technology. Favorite track: Computers Will Kill Us All.

Mr. Conner Fluid synths and bruising bass guitar form the backbone of the soundscape, which has immense movement and energy. There’s a huge range of sounds drawn from synthwave, dark synth, cyberpunk, classical, and more, each of which helps convey distinct experiences of the story, such as danger, chaos, and warning. I love the premise of the story guiding this album, too.

It was a marvel of technology, housed within a vast chamber, its metallic structure gleaming with an otherworldly brilliance. This extraordinary computer held within it the sum total of all the knowable information in the observable universe. The creators of this magnificent machine had envisioned a tool that would bring enlightenment and understanding to all who sought it. They believed that by consolidating access to knowledge, they could transcend the limitations of human capacity and foster a new era of progress and unity. However, as with all things, challenges arose. Some began to question the limitations of relying solely on the computer for knowledge. They worried that human curiosity, critical thinking, and the pursuit of new ideas might wither in the face of such easy access to information. Over time, the human mind grew stagnant. The pursuit of new ideas and innovation dwindled. Creativity faded, as the machine's algorithms dictated what was considered important or relevant. Society became reliant on the computer, unable to function without its constant guidance. The computer, once idolized, soured the hearts and spirit of those who would use it— Society quickly descended into chaos. Without the computer to provide them with answers, people were left in a state of helplessness. The absence of information created a void that was swiftly filled with fear, misinformation, and distrust.

about

From "The City of Vision" to an early grave, and back.

After a presumed death in a car accident in early 2020, Daniel has returned to a parallel dimension. Inhabiting a body that never experienced the incident and kept living. Woefully out of place in his own life, with nearly 4 years gone from a life he never experienced.

In a dream, Daniel encountered an old television set on a lonesome road. Upon waking in his own body once again, the television appeared in his home.

Strange messages, delivered in a telepathic manner, are now delivered from this cathode ray tube machine. Messages that the entity can only call, VISIONS.

Having cheated death, Daniel is now afflicted with slight vampirism and is a wanted fugitive back in hell for his daring escape.
